Quite a few years ago, I ran across an after-shave lotion called “Wet Hunting Dog.” I’ve been looking for more ever since, but for reasons I can’t understand, it seems not to have been a big seller.
A good quality cleaning kit. Some come in nice cases; cherrywood or something more modern like aluminum. Cleaning and maintaining firearms is so much easier when you have good quality tools to work with. A quality cleaning kit will last a lifetime.
Get him a Turkey Fryer. It is not just for turkey, you can steam crabs , fry fish and many other things. Any guy would like a good fryer.
I’m going to say a couple of good socks or some scent block. Something else nice would be some handwarmers.
i will give you a list of cool stuff… he probably has some of them already!
Those saws that are comprised of 2 rings and a strand of wire. they are tiny, but they work very well, and can even be used to saw bone.
a couple extra aluminum sectional tent poles, to hold up tarps and camo… somehow you never have the extra 2 you need to get the water to drip somewhere other than your neck, or to get the camo net just right for personal comfort without restricting movement
cans on coffee with the heat tab that causes it to heat itself… don’t laugh, these can not only make the return to the truck much nicer, but they can also be the bit of heat that saves your ****. Dual action comfort/emergency gear.
Bicycling pants. they have a padded butt, and it is amazing how cold your **** can get.

Surefire G2 tac. lite. $35-45 depending on the store/site.
Small 5″ long. Lightweight, bright(60 lumens), easily fits in your pocket.
I usually carry two lights when hunting, the G2, for all around light needs, like heading back to the truck after dark, and trailing in the dark. I also carry a Surefire M3, 225 lumens, for just in case.
GPS handheld unit.
Gift certificate to his favorite hunting good shop.
Water filtration unit with tablets. Small portable and light.
A case of MRE’s. perfect for long days in the woods when he gets hungry.
Chemical hand a foot heaters.
Thermals
Shooters glasses, non glare, polarized.
Sonic ears, hearing protection that turns itself on when a shot is fired but allows the user to hear normal conversation.
Binoculars or a monocular.
Spotting scope
climbing tree stand
Membership at a local gun range
Subscription to his favorite hunting or firearms monthly.
Details such as price range, game hunted, method used (rifle, shotgun, bow), regional climate (cool, cold, or frickin’ freezing) would be helpful. How about a high powered spotting scope to help him ID that trophy rack from a distance? I hunt whitetail in Missouri and would use a spotting scope in bow or rifle season.
