whats a Good gift to bring to a x-mas party for a Boss?
grni77 asked:
My husband just started a new job and his new boss invited us to his house for a x-mas party. I’m a little nervous cause he drives a Jaguar and lives on a golf course. And we make hardly any money. So should I bring a hostes gift and what should I get if so?

Politely…find an excuse…like a fake familly Emergery…decline the invitation, do not go to the party…keep the money that you will spend and can’t affort …to spend , for your immidiate familly…your familly needs the money more than him….and do not wory about your Job, if you produce in the Long run he will keep you, if you will n’t meet his standards…one way or another he will get ready off you…One way or another an expensssive GIFT will not make a difference.
corporate gift
men like that usually like any golf sovenier, helper, fun tool, or something like that. or get something for his car, i’m sure your husband could help with that……… lol. Give him something small, but still fun, or helpful. because if you dont know you should bring a gift or not you dont want it to be HUGE! if it is a little thing he will apreciate it just as much! have a good christmas party!

Summer sausage – useful, delicious, and even “luxury” summer sausage is cheap! They can cut it up and serve it right then so they don’t even have to show they totally don’t want it.
Oh, don’t get a poinsettia if they have kids or pets. They are poisonous.
Another note – I wouldn’t do wine. Whatever you can afford would be cheap in his eyes. You could always try my cookie recipe. I am famous for these:
anniversary present
I’m sure they don’t expect a gift and certainly not an expensive one. I would bring a beautiful bouquet of flowers, or, if you know they like it, a nice bottle of wine or liqueur.

You can never go wrong with a nice bottle of wine. NOTE: I said “nice bottle,” meaning you will need to spend at least $20 on it- don’t be showing up with any Boone’s Farm!!
If that’s a little out of your price range, do you bake? Were you planning on making any Christmas cookies? Home-baked goodies are always a welcome gift to bring to a party, and it looks extra thoughtful because you made them yourself. Don’t worry-it’s not tacky. Plenty of quite well-off people bring homemade cookies to gatherings like this. If you can’t/don’t bake, you can always go to a nice bakery (NOT WAL-MART!) and buy some nice Christmas cookies/pastries and arrange them in a nice tin or soething.

A lovely bottle of scotch! or you could send it to ME!!! ok ok…maybe a nice bottle of champagne, or wine. There are good sparkling wines and regular wines that aren’t that expensive.

A hostess gift is a nice idea, but don’t go overboard. The boss knows how much money your husband makes and would spot any overblown attempts to impress. Besides, with his money he can buy his own expensive things. Some good coffee is nice, a Christmas bouquet, something homemade (any specialties you make for Christmas each year?), a box of good chocolates, etc. Wine is nice if you know what kind he likes. You just want something that says “thank you for inviting us to your home.”
I’d be careful about poinsettias (they’re poisonous to pets).
gifts for women
If your boss is coming over ask him if he likes wine and if you can afford wine give him some if your house is dirty or if it is not make it tidy ab it dress up nice give him a good meal or if you are going to or if you want to ask him out to dinner go some where nice like Olive garden or if you can’t give him a gift card for spots gear to play tennis or glof with to go at the conutry club or get him a nice shirt

He drives a Jag and lives on a Golf course and you don’t make any money? ***** him. Just kidding. As your husband just started his job I would bring a bottle of wine. There are many very decent wines that can be had for as little as 10-15 dollars. I would suggest the Coppola Zinfandel. It is excellent and costs $12. It’s available all over the US and it sounds as if your husbands new boss is no stranger to wine. Good Luck and Merry Christmas.

Nothing until he can pay your husband more money.

Bring a Poinsetta, they are very pretty and don’t cost too much money. Make sure to get one with pretty paper around the pot.
