What should I bring to Thanksgiving dinner?
Onion asked:
I’m in college and can’t go home for Thanksgiving… so I’m going to my best friend from high school’s house for dinner instead. I know I should bring her family a gift but I dunno what to get/make them… does anyone know what I’m supposed to bring?
I was thinking about bringing a pie but I’m worried that EVERYONE is going to be bringing a pie…
And I’m not 21 yet… so her parents might not approve if I bring alcohol…
if you don’t go to the same college as your hosts child, a nice gift might be something from the school with the schools logo on it. Other than that, flowers or a box of candy is very thoughtful,
If you are totally strapped for cash and not a creative type see if you can help with set-up or clean-up. If none of these are you make sure that you send a very nice thank you card when you return to school.
Apple cider, or maybe cold drinks.
wine or some sort of dessert is fine…absolutely.
something sincere..think about it for a bit…I brought a friend home in college before and he brought my mom flowers and my dad a bottle of scotch….
if you bring dessert, make sure your fiends mom is not already making something…bring an appetizer maybe…shrimp…
a simple hostess gift is fine. bottle of wine, flowers, dessert.
Usually a dessert (pie) or some flowers for the host.
It’s pretty normal to bring a dessert. That’s what I would take.
