What are some gift ideas that would represent Texas?
mizztaylorr asked:
Okay, so I’m going to stay with a family in Spain this summer and I want to get my house family a gift. But I want it to be unique to where I’m from..Texas! But I dont have many ideas. Just some simple little gifts I can get them that gives them a taste of where I’m from.

We think of Texas as… Mexican cooking. A desert Landscape. Cowboys. & Americans xD also some like Skull of a bufflo in the desert xD
I have many T-Shrits from a store in Madrid that say TEXAS ALL STARS COLLEGE =)
Maybe you have a local drink… or sweets or somthing

I found this link about 50 great gift ideas. But there is one guy called Browse man who has posted a comment in the page with some very good gift options which is in the range of 5 to 10 dollars. Check this link
Add your own ideas in the comments section. I am planning to share this list to my friends so that we can make a mega list and get new ideas.
a Mini-Bush. No, that wouldn’t be a good idea.
:=)
Dallas Cowboys sweatshirts!
Seriously…they LOVE American sports team wear. (or baseball caps, if you don’t want to go that expensive). Or any of the University teams…the one you are closest to or the one that you are fan of would be good.
One thing that a lot of people don’t really think of is a photo frame. Something that represents home to you is good, or something hand made…tons of shops in bigger cities that carry such things…then, after you have been there a while, you put a photo of you with your family in it, and give it just as you are leaving. VERY personal! You can take the photo in front of some really cool monument…I have ideas, depending on where you are going, but make sure that you can tell where you are, AND see everyone!
Hot sauce? something that is locally made? Something that represents Tex-Mex food, like bags of chili seasonings…really exotic to them. There aren’t a lot of Mexican restaurants in Spain, and they really are NOT familiar, as you will see…the food is NOT what people think of when they think of Mexican. AT ALL!!!
You should browse through some of those shops where locals sell their hand-made goods. Christmas is coming up, and there will be tons of sales, where those people congregate to sell their wares. Those are always cool places to get gifts for your family.
¡Buen viaje!
