Valentines day a fake holiday?

I dont believe that valentines day is a really holiday. I mean I think its a time for hallmark and jewelry stores to make lots of money off people celebrating it. I guess I don’t celebrate it and never will, I just find it fake and Im single and plan to stay that way. I guess Im just not for that mushy bull crap, Im a hard ***** for life. Alright so do you believe in valentines day and why and if not why??????

Hallmark holiday
I think its a made up holiday by men to give or do something for their wife. Everyday should be Valentines day, not to mean giving expensive gifts or flowers but doing something like even making her some tea, a hand massage, a passionate kiss, just something she will appreciate and make her feel special. Because if she happy, she will try to make you happy too.

Yes, I believe in St. Valentine’s Day. I think it’s a fine holiday. What’s wrong with having a harmless holiday to show your love for those that matter most to you? My husband never gave me anything, no gift or special attention for any holiday, not my birthday, anniversary, etc. That’s not why we divorced, but maybe it gives you an idea of the way he thought of me. Maybe I’m a romantic, but that’s me. You don’t like mushy stuff or showing your feelings for someone, fine. You don’t have to. It’s a free world to choose how you want to be. I’m glad we have the choice.

I believe in it… it’s a time to give the person in your life, a little gift, doesn’t mean you have to go out and buy big rings and all of that, it’s just a little something to say to the one you love,

Valentine’s Day is not an official holiday but it adds a spice to life, doesn’t it ? What’s wrong with that ? So what if stores are making money off of the day ? If people spend money for Valentine’s Day, that’s their business…right ? What harm is it causing you, anyway ?
Life is more interesting with little things like Valentine’s Day, Halloween, etc…to celebrate and have fun with. It’s just something to do. It’s something to look forward to every year. How is that bad ?

when i lived in LA, me (a girl) and a group of single guy friends went out on valentine’s day and celebrated anti-valentines day. we talked about all of the funny stories of our bad relationships, the crumby ways that people leave relationships, and news/true crime stories about how love can end up in horrible ways. basically, anything anti-love. the only rule was that we could not talk about anyone who we currently have any romantic feelings for. especially, recent break-ups.
over good food and drink, it is my best valentine’s day memory. just for the record, we are fun people but just got fed up with society telling us that we have to be in a relationship to be happy!

I buy my wife candy, flowers and others gifts. I tell her that I love her, sometimes with a card. I just refuse to do it on Feb. 14th. She knows that I mean it, rather than feel obligated to do it because of some JS made up day. People are like sheep really. They do things because others do it. Not for any logical reason.

Valentine’s Day makes me ***….it’s so damn saccharine sweet that it makes me want to move to a desert island so that I never have to deal with it again.
I think it’s a conspiracy between the Federal government, and the greeting card/candy companies/florists to ***** all the poor romantic saps out of their money.

b/c i am single and every year at school there would be the beautiful candy grams and gifts that guys would send to their girls, and I waited every year but NEVER got one!!!! I think that it is a horrible day and cupid never struck me or a guy to fall for me….For the record, 25yo, single, never dated, never everything else!!! JEEZ

NO…i totally agree with you. It’s just another made-up holiday to get money for more big corportations…Hersheys and Hallmark make a killing off this holiday…It is just for kids really.
