Appropriate birthday gift for your boss?

I am a receptionist for a small wealth management firm and I need some advice. It’s my boss’s birthday on Labor Day and I really don’t know what would be an appropriate gift. I want to get him a little something, because he’s been quite helpful to me since I’ve started here (I’ve been here about 5 months). He’s maybe in his mid 60′s, conservative, seems to have everything! I don’t want to seem like a pushover either. Any suggestions as to what would be appropriate?
