What do you think of this poem- and by that, I mean, how do you interpret it? What does it bring to mind? Perhaps tell me about the atmosphere it seems to create, if it gets the point across well.

with a softer, sweeter light,
a gift, to be held dear-
She, accustomed to the night
in utter isolation, dies,
all for her heart, so filled with the fear
that a tormenting sun would burn her eyes-
and leave her blind to love.

A friend and I are planning to take a vacation to a city in Mexico over Labor Day weekend and are debating which city to go to? What city would be good for a weekend to see Mayan or Aztec Ruins? He has his heart set on Mexico City.
Not so much looking for the party destinations or beaches, although hanging out in a bar then and there would be cool.
