i made a friend at the beginning of the school year. a few weeks ago was the last day of school. i wasnt expecting a gift but the gift she gave me made me upset. It was an extremely old, used, torn-up, comic book. It wasnt even the first one in the series (it was vol.22). It also had her name written on the cover in pen.

She told me that it was the first book she ever read (which is not true) and it was given to her by her cousin when she was little (but it doesn’t look like the level of a 5 yr old).

She also wrote on a piece of line paper that was ripped off. It had a little note on it saying how she didnt give the comic book to her other friend because she was mean.

I was upset after the long friendship we had, she would give me this (not that i was expecting anything).

Is it alright to feel this way?

I was surprised to be invited to a distant relative’s (I think it’s my third cousin) son’s graduation. I hardly ever see these people. Makes it seem like they invited me just to get another gift. I was speaking with my aunt last week and she mentioned that she had received an invitation also. She planned on attending, but was only going to give him $20. What would be an appropriate amount under these circumstances?
