Is it wrong to display an American flag hung against a wall as a decoration?
Grant I asked:
I’m a patriotic person, and would like to display this important part of my life. I want to buy a really big (wall sized) american flag and hang it in my room. It is a plain wall with no windows or anything against it. Would it be dishonorable to hang a flag this way?

Of course not. Sections of the United States Code (federal statutes) state certain customs for displaying the flag. According to 4 USC section 7(i):
(i) When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag’s own right, that is, to the observer’s left. When displayed in a window, the flag should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street.

No, it’s not dishonorable.
You should hang the flag such that the blue field is up and to the left as you’re looking at it, whether you hang it horizontally or vertically.
