How do you properly lower the american flag?

according to the flag code the flag sould be hoisted briskly and lowered ceremoniously.
meaning that it should be raised tothe top of the pole quickly and lowered slower. normal 25ft pole should take you a minute to lower the flag from it.
if at the moment your flag is flying half staff then raise it to the top of the pole for a moment before lowering ceremoniously.

Normal flag raising is straight forward. Just slowly and respectfully raise it to the top.
During half mast, the flag should be raised all the way to the top and then lowered half way. When taking it down raise it to the top, then lower it all the way down.
