Beltran’s great, but I assume you’re talking about the five “classic” tools. One of them is hitting for average. Carlos has a lifetime .280 average, and his K/BB ratios are also not that impressive. He’s great, but when it comes to the total package, I might go with A-Rod or even Vladimir Guerrero (lifetime .325, and he swings at ANYTHING) over Beltran.

i consider Beltran top 5 for sure but his knees aren’t what they once were. i actually consider Pujols the best right now as he has done it consistantly since he came into the league.

Yes he is gifted, but I thought you meant gifted like he has a degree in Whiffology or something which Ryan Howard actually holds a degree in. While Beltran is a great player, he still lacks in some categories of being the “most gifted” player out there. RR
